A down-on-his-luck hustler who spends his time scalping tickets, gambling, and drinking takes an unlikely job coaching a Little League team in Chicago’s Cabrini-Green housing project, after a friend makes it the condition for a loan. Keanu Reeves is the drifter at the center, arriving with no plan and no feel for the kids he’s supposed to lead. What starts as a paycheck puts him in close quarters with a neighborhood, a team, and a set of responsibilities he’s spent most of his life ducking, with Diane Lane and D.B. Sweeney among the adults around him.
