On a colonized Mars in 2176, police lieutenant Melanie Ballard joins a transport detail headed to a remote mining settlement to collect a dangerous prisoner. Natasha Henstridge is Ballard, and Ice Cube’s James “Desolation” Williams soon becomes less urgent than the town itself: empty streets, mutilated bodies, and workers overtaken by the planet’s original inhabitants. As Ballard’s unit pieces together what happened, the pickup turns into a fight for survival inside an isolated outpost. John Carpenter directs, with Jason Statham and Clea DuVall among the officers caught in the siege.
