The Proposal
ComedyDramaRomance108 min
Facing deportation to Canada, feared New York book editor Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) announces that she’s engaged to her overworked assistant. Ryan Reynolds’s Andrew Paxton goes along with the plan, but only if Margaret travels with him to Alaska, where his family expects a real wedding, not a paperwork fix. As an immigration official starts asking questions, the pair have to keep up the charade through family dinners, old tensions, and a weekend that pushes their employer-employee arrangement into much more personal territory.
