Mommie Dearest

ComedyDrama129 min

In Hollywood, adopted siblings Christina and Christopher grow up in the shadow of movie star Joan Crawford, where life at home is ruled by image, discipline, and fear. What begins as a glamorous version of family life keeps turning cruel as Joan’s need for control reaches into every part of the children’s world, from public appearances to private punishment. As Christina gets older, she starts to see how completely her mother’s moods and ambitions shape the household, and every attempt to push back brings harsher consequences. Faye Dunaway plays Joan as a woman who guards her fame fiercely, even when it means breaking the people closest to her.
