Papillon

CrimeDrama151 min

Steve McQueen is Henri Charrière, nicknamed Papillon, a convict sent to a brutal prison colony in 1930s French Guiana. On the island he befriends fellow inmate Louis Dega (Dustin Hoffman), and the two form a wary alliance inside a world of hard labor, punishment, and escape plans. With the camp hemmed in by jungle and sea, and solitary confinement hanging over every act of defiance, Papillon fixes on a single goal: finding a way off Devil’s Island.
