Serpico
CrimeDramaThriller130 min
Frank Serpico is a New York cop who refuses the kickbacks and payoffs built into daily police work, and his decision to report corruption inside the department leaves him isolated from the force around him. Al Pacino is Serpico, a plainclothes officer whose refusal to go along with the system turns him into a target among fellow officers as well as criminals on the street. Directed by Sidney Lumet, the film moves through 1970s New York with a lived-in, on-location feel, following one man’s fight to stay honest inside a department closing ranks.
