Will & Harper
ComedyDocumentary114 min
When Will Ferrell learns that his close friend Harper Steele has come out as a trans woman, the two head out on a cross-country road trip to reconnect and figure out what this new chapter means for a friendship that spans decades. Harper’s transition gives the trip its shape, but the film keeps its focus on the back-and-forth between two people who know each other well and are adjusting in public as well as in private. Along the way, familiar faces from their comedy circle, including Tina Fey and Seth Meyers, appear as the documentary moves through friendship, identity, and Harper’s return to America as herself.
