The Way We Were
DramaRomance118 min
During their college years, outspoken activist Katie Morosky and golden-boy writer Hubbell Gardiner begin a romance that follows them from campus into postwar Hollywood. Barbra Streisand is Katie, a politically committed Jewish student whose convictions shape every part of her life; Robert Redford’s Hubbell moves through the world with charm and ease, but not Katie’s certainty. When they meet again after World War II and try to build a life together, their differences in class, politics, and ambition keep pressing to the surface, with McCarthy-era suspicion closing in around them.
