Doctor Zhivago

DramaRomanceWar200 min

In Russia as World War I gives way to revolution and civil war, physician and poet Yuri Zhivago is pulled through one upheaval after another as the country around him is torn apart. Married and trying to hold on to a private life, he becomes bound to Lara Antipova, and their connection keeps resurfacing as war, displacement, and political violence keep separating them. What begins as a chance crossing turns into a forbidden love that survives in fragments: brief reunions, changing allegiances, and the constant threat of history closing in. With Omar Sharif and Julie Christie at its center, the film follows how vast public events reshape intimate lives.
