The Curse of Frankenstein

HorrorSci-FiThriller83 min

Awaiting execution, Baron Victor Frankenstein recounts how his search for the secret of life led to a man-made creature and a string of killings he insists he did not commit. Peter Cushing is Victor, played not as a tortured dreamer but as an icy aristocrat whose ambition keeps outrunning his conscience. Opposite him, Christopher Lee’s Creature emerges as the brutal result of those experiments, with Hazel Court’s Elizabeth drawn into the damage around him. Told in flashback, the film moves through laboratories, morgues, and drawing rooms with the formal menace and vivid Gothic style that defined Hammer’s take on Frankenstein.
