Bride of Frankenstein

DramaHorrorSci-Fi75 min

After surviving the villagers' attack, Henry Frankenstein tries to leave his experiments behind, but his old mentor, Doctor Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger), pushes him back toward the operating table and a new act of creation. Boris Karloff's Monster is also still alive, moving from crypts to the woods and finding brief shelter with a blind hermit as the search for him closes in. Colin Clive is the shaken Frankenstein, with Elsa Lanchester appearing in a dual role that connects Mary Shelley to the film's newly imagined bride. James Whale's 1935 sequel keeps the Gothic horror of the original while widening the story around both creator and creature.
