Norma Rae
Drama114 min
Sally Field is Norma Rae, a young single mother working in a Southern textile mill where noise, dust, and unsafe conditions are treated as routine. When a visiting union organizer, Reuben (Ron Leibman), arrives, her anger over what the job is doing to workers turns into open organizing, putting her at odds with management and straining relationships at home and in town. Based on a true story, the film keeps its focus on the factory floor and on Norma’s shift from overworked employee to a central figure in a fight her co-workers aren’t sure they can afford.
