Coal Miner's Daughter
Drama125 min
From a poor Kentucky coal-mining family to the stages of Nashville, Loretta Lynn moves toward a country music career while raising children and learning how to make her voice heard. Sissy Spacek is Loretta, first seen as a young wife in Appalachia, writing songs and singing at local fairs and honky-tonks as her world starts to widen. Tommy Lee Jones’s Mooney sees her talent early and pushes her toward recording, the Grand Ole Opry, and the uneasy shift from home life to public fame, as the film follows the rise behind one of country music’s most recognizable voices.
