Bound for Glory
Drama147 min
Driven out by the Dust Bowl and the Depression, Woody Guthrie heads west with other Oklahoma migrants and lands in a California where farm laborers are desperate, exploited, and treated as outsiders. As he moves through labor camps, odd jobs, and crowded roads, he watches families struggle to eat, work, and keep their dignity. Music becomes the way he answers what he sees. David Carradine’s Guthrie starts turning daily hardship into songs that speak for the people around him, but that voice puts him up against growers, police pressure, and a world that would rather keep the migrants invisible. Under Hal Ashby, the film follows how a drifter becomes a singer with a cause.
