Videodrome

DramaHorrorMysterySci-FiThriller88 min

Max Renn runs a trashy TV channel and is desperate for something extreme enough to pull in viewers. James Woods is Max, whose latest find is a pirate broadcast called Videodrome, a program built around torture and punishment. When his girlfriend (Debbie Harry) auditions for the show and never comes back, Max starts hunting for its source and finds himself pulled into conspiracy, brainwashing, and increasingly unstable visions. Directed by David Cronenberg, the film folds media obsession and televised violence into body horror as Max’s search for answers scrambles his grip on what he can trust.
