Blazing Saddles

ComedyWestern93 min

When Rock Ridge stands in the way of a railroad land grab, corrupt fixer Hedley Lamarr arranges for the town to get a new sheriff he assumes the locals will never accept: the first Black sheriff in the West. Cleavon Little is the lawman dropped into the middle of that scheme, while Gene Wilder’s Waco Kid drifts in as an offbeat ally. Directed by Mel Brooks, the film uses its frontier-town setup to skewer racism, political stupidity, and classic Western clichés, with Harvey Korman’s Lamarr and Madeline Kahn’s saloon-singer send-up helping push the story into broad parody, slapstick, and self-aware movie chaos.
