An aging outlaw gang chases one last score on the Texas-Mexico border as 1913 and a more modern world close in around them. William Holden leads the group, with Ernest Borgnine at his side, while Robert Ryan is among the men tracking them as the old West gives way to railroads, machine guns, and hired hunters. Directed by Sam Peckinpah, the story moves from a robbery gone wrong into pursuit, border crossings, and shifting alliances, with the Mexican Revolution pressing in on men trying to hold to their own code.
