An ordinary bank teller gets swept into a scramble over blank ownership papers locked in a vault: whoever fills in the name takes control of a revue, and several people want the prize for themselves. Pierre Richard is the mild, awkward clerk who keeps upsetting a scheme involving the vault owner’s nephew, a compromised bank manager, and a trail that leads toward the cabaret world. Jane Birkin appears amid the chase as the fight over the documents spills out of the bank and into a comic tangle of money, fraud, and mistaken moves.
