Idiocracy

ActionAdventureComedySci-FiThrillerWar84 min

Chosen for a top-secret hibernation experiment, Joe Bauers wakes up in the year 2505 to find that mass consumerism and anti-intellectualism have turned the United States into a dysfunctional future where he’s suddenly the smartest person around. Luke Wilson’s Joe is joined by Rita (Maya Rudolph), the other test subject stranded centuries from her own time, as they try to navigate a society run on junk media, corporate slogans, and spectacularly bad decision-making. Mike Judge frames the premise as broad sci-fi satire, with the future rendered as a crumbling, overbranded America.
