After turning his small theater into a hit, Matthew McConaughey is ever-optimistic koala impresario Buster Moon, who drags his troupe to glamorous Redshore City hoping to open a spectacular new show at the Crystal Tower. To get past entertainment mogul Jimmy Crystal, the gang pitches an impossible hook: a comeback by vanished rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Reese Witherspoon's Rosita, Scarlett Johansson's Ash, Taron Egerton's Johnny and the rest of Buster's animal cast juggle rehearsals, nerves and Mr. Crystal's pressure while Buster goes looking for the lion who left the stage behind.
