Soul

Joe Gardner is a middle school teacher in New York whose long-shot break as a jazz pianist arrives just before an accident sends his soul somewhere else entirely. Jamie Foxx voices Joe, suddenly stranded in the You Seminar, where unborn souls are mentored before life on Earth. To find his way back in time for his shot at the Half Note Club, he ends up paired with 22, a stubborn soul voiced by Tina Fey, who has no interest in becoming human. The film moves between city streets, rehearsal rooms, and a bright, abstract afterlife shaped around music and identity.
