The Lion King 1½
ActionAdventureAnimationComedyFamilyMusical77 min
Before Simba’s story begins, Timon sets out to find a place of his own and ends up teamed with Pumbaa, the easygoing warthog who becomes his closest ally. Nathan Lane is Timon, with Ernie Sabella returning as Pumbaa, in a retelling of The Lion King from the pair’s point of view — following their backstory, their wanderings across the African savanna, and the moments when they cross paths with a young lion cub. The film keeps its focus on the duo’s commentary and comic detours while revisiting familiar events from the original story from the sidelines.
