The Newsroom

Drama58 min per episode

At a cable news program, a broadcast built on ratings and routines gets upended when anchor Will McAvoy decides he wants to stop smoothing over the truth and start reporting the news more directly. That choice throws the control room into constant conflict as producers, reporters, and executives scramble to cover fast-moving political stories while fighting over standards, strategy, and what the audience will tolerate. Old relationships and newsroom rivalries add pressure to every breaking event. Jeff Daniels anchors the turmoil as Will, with Emily Mortimer as the producer trying to keep the show on the air while its new approach puts careers, friendships, and the broadcast itself under strain.
