The story
In June 1998, Shiki Ryougi wakes from a two-year coma with amnesia, unable to remember the accident that put her there and cut off from any clear sense that she’s alive at all. Maaya Sakamoto is Shiki, moving through Tokyo in a daze as strange, otherworldly figures begin attacking her. Takako Honda’s Touko Aozaki, a wizard who runs the Garan no Dou studio, steps in as Shiki’s guide to a world where the supernatural keeps pressing into everyday life. The story centers on Shiki’s fractured identity, the blank space left by the crash, and the violent forces gathering around her.
