Kiss the Future

DocumentaryWar103 min

During the 1990s Siege of Sarajevo, a community of artists and musicians keeps creating under bombardment, using culture as defiance against the nationalism driving the Bosnian War. The film follows how Sarajevo’s underground scene and aid worker Bill Carter’s outreach brought U2 into the story; Bono and The Edge appear alongside journalist Christiane Amanpour and survivors from the city. Through firsthand accounts, Kiss the Future connects broadcasts, concerts, and street-level activism in a place trying to hold on to visibility and hope.
