Everybody's Fine

Drama118 min

Retired Sicilian widower Matteo Scuro sets out across Italy to surprise his five adult children after a planned family reunion falls apart. Marcello Mastroianni is Matteo, an opera-loving former bureaucrat who boards trains from city to city expecting the successful, orderly lives his children describe in letters and phone calls. At each stop, the gap between family stories and family reality grows wider. Valeria Cavalli is among the children Matteo visits, in a portrait of parents and grown children separated by geography, pride, and things left unsaid.
