Bicentennial Man

DramaRomanceSci-Fi132 min

When Richard Martin brings home an NDR-114 robot as a household appliance, his youngest daughter names him Andrew—and the machine begins to change in ways no one expected. Robin Williams is Andrew, whose talent for art, emotion, and independent thought slowly turns him from servant into something closer to family. In the Martin household, led by Sam Neill's Richard, Andrew's growing sense of self pushes beyond programming and into questions of freedom, identity, and love. The story stretches through a futuristic society where technology can be bought off the shelf, but personhood is harder to define.
