Ladies of Leisure

DramaRomance100 min

At a party thrown by wealthy men, a hard-living young woman is hired to keep one guest company and ends up catching the attention of a painter from a rich family. What begins as a paid evening turns into a serious attachment, and he asks her to model for him as their relationship deepens. But the world around them keeps defining her by where she came from, while his parents see the romance as a threat to the life they planned for him. As he pushes toward marriage, class prejudice, suspicion, and the terms of their first meeting keep pressing in. Barbara Stanwyck and Ralph Graves anchor a romance built on desire colliding with social rules.
