After her 32-year-old son is involved in a car crash that kills a child, a wealthy Bucharest mother moves quickly to keep him from being charged, forcing her way into a life he has tried to keep separate from hers. Luminita Gheorghiu is Cornelia, polished and well connected, while Bogdan Dumitrache’s Barbu meets her attention with resentment and distance. As the fallout spreads from family arguments to police offices and hospital corridors, the film keeps its focus on class, influence, and a mother-son bond that has never settled into ordinary adulthood.
