In 1987 Communist Romania, college roommates Otilia and Găbița have 24 hours to finalize a black-market abortion, moving from a student dormitory to a hotel room through a maze of shortages, cash payments, and careful lies. Anamaria Marinca is Otilia, the friend handling the reservations, money, and mounting complications for Laura Vasiliu’s pregnant Găbița. As the arrangements close in around them, their meeting with the abortionist (Vlad Ivanov) turns an already dangerous situation into something harsher and more precarious.
