John Waite: The Hard Way

Documentary91 min

When live performance suddenly stops, John Waite looks back at the career that made him an early star of the MTV era. Through lockdown interviews and archival photos, music videos, and concert footage, Waite retraces the path from The Babys in the 1970s to his solo breakthrough with “Missing You” and his time fronting Bad English, while speaking plainly about commercial pressure, independence, and years of self-directed touring. Diane Warren and Joni Allen are among the voices around him as the film moves between rock history and a more personal account of what happens when life off the road can’t be avoided.
