The Public Image is Rotten
Documentary105 min
After the Sex Pistols split, John Lydon looks back on the creation of Public Image Ltd, the band he formed to break from his past and keep changing shape. Through interviews with Lydon, Jah Wobble, and other former bandmates, the film follows PiL through shifting lineups, abrupt turns in sound, and the internal clashes that came with trying to reinvent the group again and again. Voices from across the music world help place Public Image Ltd in the larger post-punk story.
