Tangerines

DramaWar87 min

In Abkhazia in 1992, an Estonian farmer stays behind in Georgia to bring in his tangerine harvest as war closes around his village. Lembit Ulfsak is Ivo, a carpenter and grower whose house becomes a refuge after a firefight leaves two enemy soldiers wounded at his door. Ahmed (Giorgi Nakashidze) and Nika (Misha Meskhi) come from opposite sides of the conflict, carrying their injuries and their hatred into the same cramped space. Inside Ivo’s home, meals, recovery, and hard rules unfold while gunfire and burned-out homes mark the world outside.
