Raised from childhood to fight on command, Danny is a human weapon kept on a collar by Bob Hoskins' Bart, a Glasgow gangster who treats him like property and makes money off underground bouts. After a car accident separates Danny from Bart's crew, Jet Li's battered enforcer slips into a very different life when a blind piano tuner (Morgan Freeman) takes him in and introduces him to a home shaped by routine and music instead of violence. As Danny begins to see what an ordinary life might look like, the criminal world that trained him to survive with his fists closes back in.
