Eddie the Eagle
ActionAdventureComedyDramaFamily106 min
Michael “Eddie” Edwards is a British skier who takes up ski jumping and chases a place at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, even as officials and spectators keep counting him out. Taron Egerton is Eddie, awkward, stubborn, and fixed on the idea that he belongs on the Olympic stage. With help from Hugh Jackman’s rebellious coach, he pushes through training setbacks and a sport dominated by better-funded, more polished competitors. Based on true events, the film follows Eddie’s improbable bid to represent Britain in one of winter sports’ most unforgiving events.
