The Female Animal
DramaRomance84 min
Jaded movie star Vanessa Windsor is pulled into a messy triangle after a studio extra saves her from an on-set accident. Hedy Lamarr is Vanessa, a fading Hollywood celebrity who installs Chris Farley (George Nader) as the caretaker of her beach house and starts pursuing him herself. The arrangement gets more complicated when Vanessa’s alcoholic adult daughter Penny — Jane Powell’s role — meets Chris after he rescues her from an unwanted boyfriend. What begins as a favor turns into a charged mother-daughter rivalry, with studio backlots, beach-house luxury, and old Hollywood weariness hanging over the whole affair.
