Danny DeVito’s Louie is a petty tyrant, while Judd Hirsch is Alex Reiger, the calm center of a crew that includes Bobby, Elaine, Tony, Reverend Jim, and mechanic Latka. The series stays close to the everyday life of the garage: shifts on the street, arguments at work, and the bond that forms among people who spend long hours together and end up carrying one another through the usual mess of life.
