In 1950s Milwaukee, teenager Richie Cunningham comes of age in a close-knit family where school, dating, and hanging out at the local drive-in can turn everyday problems into big events. At home, his parents try to keep order while Richie and his friends test rules, chase romance, and stumble through one misadventure after another. A bigger presence arrives in Richie’s orbit with Fonzie, the leather-jacketed cool kid whose confidence and streetwise advice shake up the Cunninghams’ ordinary routines. As the group moves from adolescence toward adulthood, the series follows the small crises, comic misunderstandings, and changing friendships that shape life in a Midwestern neighborhood.
