The Quest
ActionAdventureDramaThriller95 min
Jean-Claude Van Damme is Chris Dubois, a 1925 New York street thief whose escape from the police sends him out of the city and into the hands of smugglers, pirates, and an ancient fighting circuit. After Muay Thai training in Siam, Chris is pushed toward the Ghang-gheng, a winner-take-all tournament in Tibet where champions from around the world compete for the Golden Dragon. Roger Moore’s Lord Edgar Dobbs, an urbane adventurer with shifting loyalties, hovers at the center of Chris’s predicament. Van Damme’s directorial debut moves from Manhattan alleys to remote islands and ceremonial fight arenas.
