Ivko's Feast

The story

In a Serbian town, a family’s saint’s day celebration turns into a comic siege of food, drink, and wounded pride. Ivko prepares for the feast expecting tradition and honor, but once guests begin arriving, every ritual opens the door to gossip, flirtation, old grudges, and small schemes that refuse to stay small. The meal keeps stretching as neighbors test one another’s manners and patience, and the gathering becomes a showcase for vanity, rivalry, and social custom. Set around a holiday meant to bring people together, the story follows how one crowded celebration exposes the absurd rules everyone lives by while the house strains to hold the chaos.
