Recalled from shore leave in wartime Britain, the crew of the submarine Sea Tiger are sent into the Baltic on a secret mission to intercept the Nazi battleship Brandenburg. John Mills is Lt. Freddie Taylor, the Royal Navy captain steering the boat through enemy waters, and Eric Portman is part of the crew drawn back from their families and into danger. After a clash with a German destroyer leaves the submarine damaged and leaking fuel, the voyage home becomes a race to stay hidden and find a way past the Danish coast.
