New York jazz pianist Willie Conway heads home to snowy Knight’s Ridge, Massachusetts, for his high school reunion and finds his old circle stalled between adolescence and adulthood. Timothy Hutton is Willie, drifting through familiar bars and old relationships while his friends do the same: Matt Dillon’s Tommy coasts on charm, and the women around them keep forcing overdue choices to the surface. As the reunion weekend unfolds, the film sticks close to the rhythms of a small town in winter—long friendships, old crushes, and the awkward recognition that the life you left behind may not be as finished with you as you thought.
