Tom Cruise is Jerry Maguire, a high-powered sports agent whose crisis of conscience gets him fired and leaves him trying to start over with one client and a mission statement nobody wants to hear. That last client is Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Rod Tidwell, a swaggering football star who wants attention, money, and respect in equal measure. Alongside them is Dorothy (Renée Zellweger), a single mother and co-worker who takes a chance on Jerry’s shaky new venture. Cameron Crowe folds locker-room dealmaking, office politics, and a messy romance into Jerry’s scramble to rebuild both his career and his sense of himself.
