Ash Williams, a shotgun-toting department store clerk with a chainsaw for a hand, is time-warped to England’s Dark Ages, where the only way home runs through the Necronomicon. Bruce Campbell’s Ash lands in the middle of castle feuds, prophecies, witches, and an undead uprising after a failed attempt to claim the book. Alongside Sheila (Embeth Davidtz), he stumbles from windmills and pits to catapults and siege lines, facing his own double and a growing army of skeletons. Sam Raimi pushes the Evil Dead story into medieval fantasy, mixing stop-motion creatures, slapstick violence, and Ash’s swaggering one-liners.
