Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
DramaRomance90 min
Arthur Seaton is a 22-year-old factory worker in a Northern English town who spends his weekends drinking, fighting, and chasing escape wherever he can find it. Albert Finney gives Arthur a swaggering, restless edge, while Rachel Roberts is the older married woman whose affair with him turns casual rebellion into something harder to ignore. One of the key films of British kitchen-sink realism, it stays close to shop floors, pubs, back streets, and the working-class routines Arthur keeps pushing against as his nights out start to catch up with him.
