The Celebration
Drama105 min
At a wealthy Danish patriarch’s 60th birthday dinner, the formal speeches take a hard turn when his eldest son publicly levels a devastating accusation. Ulrich Thomsen is Christian, the son who uses the banquet toast to force the family’s private history into the open, while Henning Moritzen’s Helge sits at the center of the table as relatives scramble to contain the fallout. Over the course of the night, the reunion shifts from ritual and small talk to drunken confrontations, denial, and a struggle over what will be acknowledged in front of everyone.
