The story
Sachie has opened a Japanese diner on a quiet street in Helsinki, serving rice balls to a city that initially gives her an empty room and long, quiet days. Satomi Kobayashi is the steady center as the owner waits out that first month without customers, then finds the place slowly changing once a lone regular appears and she crosses paths with Midori (Hairi Katagiri), a gangly Japanese tourist she invites to stay. From there, the film follows the small routines and unexpected friendships that gather around the café, as Japanese home cooking becomes a point of connection in an unfamiliar city.
