Ricky returns to Munich from Vietnam and is almost immediately pulled into contract killing. Karl Scheydt is Ricky, a German-born American GI moving through a West German underworld of hired jobs, uneasy encounters, and shifting loyalties. Written and directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the film treats its gangster setup with a cool, stripped-down style, letting pauses, side glances, and abrupt turns shape the tension as much as the violence itself. Elga Sorbas is among the figures circling Ricky as he settles back into a city that feels both familiar and detached.
