Ransom
ActionAdventureCrimeDramaThriller121 min
After his young son is kidnapped, self-made airline magnate Tom Mullen refuses to stay in the role of helpless victim. Mel Gibson is Tom, a wealthy, tightly wound businessman whose money and public profile become part of the crisis, while Rene Russo's Kate is drawn into every decision as the family deals with the FBI, the press, and the kidnappers' demands. Agent Hawkins (Delroy Lindo) pushes the case through standard channels, but Tom breaks from the script and turns the ransom into a televised bounty on the people who took his child. Ron Howard directs with the case moving through boardrooms, police strategy, and live media glare.
