Fourteen-year-old Anouk spends a school observation week at the insurance company where her mother works, expecting a routine assignment and finding an adult world shaped by small compromises and everyday cowardice. Jeanne Jestin is Anouk, taking in office hierarchies and uneasy conversations as her view of home begins to shift. At the center is Émilie Dequenne’s mother, suddenly less familiar once she is seen at work instead of across the dinner table. The week becomes a first hard lesson in responsibility, disappointment, and the moment a daughter starts to understand that parents can have private lives, blind spots, and failures of their own.
